There are currently ten enthusiastic singers in our church choir. Often the anthem is a new hymn from our denominational hymns. The choir practices at 9:15 AM on Sunday morning prior to the worship service.

The pattern for Sunday worship follows the Christian Year, celebrating Advent, Christmas and Epiphany during the winter and Lent, Easter and Pentecost during the spring. Sermons often follow the common lectionary based on one of the four scripture readings assigned weekly.

WHAT IS A PRESBYTERIAN AND WHAT DO PRESBYTERIANS BELIEVE?

Presbyterians are characterized most readily by their form of government. Presbyterian means, rule by elders, that is, governance is accomplished largely through decisions made jointly by presbyters (elders and ministers of the Word and Sacrament, traditionally called “ruling elders” and “teaching elders,” respectively). This principle applies to each level of the church, from the local congregation, to the regional bodies called presbyteries and synods, to the national body called the General Assembly. Doctrinally, Presbyterians share the basic views of traditional Christianity. For instance, we believe in the triune God, the authority of scripture, and that salvation comes through faith alone. We are particularly strengthened by the idea of God's sovereignty. Our beliefs are most fully expressed in a document entitled The Book of Confessions. This is a collection of eleven theological statements that have been adopted at various times by churches of the Protestant Reformed tradition from the sixteenth century to the present.

WHAT IS THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ( USA )?

Presbyterians are characterized by their form of government, a representative democracy governed by elders elected from and by the congregation.

Presbyterians embrace the faith common to all Christians: that God exists in the Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that Christ is the revealer of God who came to earth in human form and sacrificed His own life for the salvation of those who believe in Him. Presbyterians believe in God the Creator of the Universe and in the Holy Spirit which is the presence of God in the world and in the believer. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the church is the universal company of Christ¹s followers, and the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting.
